July (2017) Spotlight Feature

I just posted a triple transcription of John Coltrane’s composition titled, “26-2″.

My main focus in this transcription was on McCoy’s “comping” and “soloing”, for the study and benefit of my piano students (and me!).

I’m sure there are other great transcriptions of “Trane’s” solo on this tune but I thought I’d round out this project with my own transcriptions of the sax and bass parts for purpose of further improv study and bass line analysis.

Practice well and have fun.
